About Wyman Meinzer
Wyman Meinzer is the only official State Photographer of Texas. He was raised on League Ranch, a 27,000-acre ranch in the rolling plains of Texas. Since then, he has traveled across the state many times to capture the first and last rays of sunlight as they kiss the Texas landscapes.
He started his career as a professional predator hunter. He transitioned into a research associate for the university and now teaches a senior-level course in Special Problems Photography at Texas Tech University in addition to his ongoing book projects and freelance magazine assignments.
I have driven through Vernon many times on my way to Amarillo from Dallas. And also Benjamin on my way from Crosbyton to Dallas. The last time I was in that area, I was with my daughter and two grandsons, we were on a “roots” trip to all of the places we had lived on the Plains. We stopped in Benjamin for lunch, probably at the only cafe there is in that little town now. Your comments about Texas on this video tells is like it is – - we are proud Texans and love this part of the world without reservation. Thank you for capturing beautiful images of the land I love.
