Ghost of the Plains

Early one autumn morning I was walking in the badlands along the Wichita River in Knox County near my home town of Benjamin, Texas. I noticed movement through the thick morning fog and immediately recognized a beautiful coyote drifting through the diffused light like an apparition. I sat down against a hillside and began mimicking the sound of a rodent in distress with my lips. The coyote trotted to me and then angled past only to disappear as quickly as it had appeared in the fog of early morning. Handheld
Canon F1N, AE Motordrive and Canon 500mm F4.5L lens. Kodachrome 64.

What an amazing body of work.. being a photographer myself I enjoy looking at these over and over. I want to thank you for putting the kind of camara you use on your pictures.. I am an older photo person and have always used film gut my camaras were ruined in a flood an never could replace them.. so now I enjoy your wonderful work even more.. I hope to go to the grand canyon soon and though my little cheapy camara will not do it justice I plan to take lots of pictures just the same. Please never stop making these wonderful pictures as now I will be looking forward to each new picture from you… PAT
