Desert muledeer frequent the more open country during the hours of nightfall but retreat to their mountain holds during the day. These five bucks were on their way to the canyons at daybreak when I intercepted them along their travel route and collected this image with a Canon F1N with AE Motordrive and a Canon 500mm F4.5 L lens. Film was Kodachrome 64.
