Rolling Plains Coyote

On this overcast morning I was walking through the juniper brush along a long ridge of hills when I spotted several coyotes at some distance in a wheat field below. Lying down and bracing my lens over a mesquite stump, I mimicked the sound of a rat with my lips and soon had this coyote trotting toward me. As he turned to leave he gave me a pose so defining of that species of wild canine.

I bet he was thinking “funniest rat I ever saw” what a great shot I have been lucky to get in some really amazing shots in my time.. It is always rewarding when I can capture these special moments.. I wish someone could have taken a pic of me and a deer,, I was down on my knee’s fixing the bottom string of my border fence when I heard a russling in the near grass. I looked up just in time to see a big buck and duck my head as he jumped over my head and went on his merry way.. Don’t mind saying I was a bit overwhelmed.
